Bio.

Kathleen O’Hagan (b.1999) is an emerging artist from Brisbane, currently studying at the Queensland College of Art. Kathleen is known for her hyper-realistic, colour-saturated paintings and drawings. Over the last four years, Kathleen has exhibited and been awarded in several major galleries across Australia. In 2018, Kathleen held her first solo exhibition, “Joyful Creation” at the Centre for Innovation and Creativity, Northside Christian College.

In 2015, she received an excellence award in the Creative Generations Excellence in Visual Art Award and exhibited in both the Ipswich Art Gallery and the Gallery of Modern Art at South Bank, Brisbane. Subsequently, Kathleen was granted Art Funding to pursue further exhibition through RSL & Bond University’s Youth Development Program. Kathleen has exhibited and been recognised in the Mosman Youth Art Prize, receiving the 3rd Prize (2017), the encouragement award (2015 and 2016) and the Ken Done Prize (2018) respectively. In 2018, Kathleen was awarded the Billie Hall Bursary for Outstanding Achievement in Fine Art at the Queensland College of Art. Kathleen illustrated her first children’s book, “Colourful Memories” with Wombat Books, published July 2018 (www.wombatbooks.com.au).

Kathleen O’Hagan currently holds the position of Artist in Residence at Northside Christian College. She is looking forward to expanding upon her studies and practice in 2019!
