Born in Brisbane, Australia in 1999, Kathleen O’Hagan is an emerging portrait artist, known for her hyper-realistic, colour-saturated drawings.
Kathleen’s discipline, which majors in painting, drawing, printmaking and digital media, draws on the everyday mundane experience, of school, of work, family and friendship. In capturing small glimpses of her subject’s personality, Kathleen hopes to delve deeper behind the “perfect” facades of the 21st century life and explore what it means to be a living, breathing human being.
As a recent school graduate, Kathleen has already exhibited and been awarded in key Australian institutions including the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art, Mosman Art Gallery and S.H. Ervin Gallery. Currently, Kathleen is finishing a contract with Wombat Book Publishing and expects to publish her first children’s book as an illustrator this year. She does not plan on stopping either, intending to enter several more art prizes in the future and to develop her already evolving arts career!
